How to Find the Right Caterer for Your Wedding or Special Event
Don't settle for rubber chicken, cold prime rib or bread rolls you can bounce off the table.
Hire a professional who knows how to give you quality food and service for the price you can afford.
Here are some things to keep in mind when searching for the best caterer for your event.
• Start your search as soon as you know the definite date and time of your event.
• When you've decided on a venue for your event check out the policies of that venue.
Can you bring in an outside catering service or do they require you to use their catering service.
• Decide on a budget. What is your budget limit. Caterers most often charge per person
for catering service. The price can be anywhere from $10 to over a $100 dollars per person.
• Ask for specifics. What do they offer for the price you can afford. What is the cost to rent tables, chairs, centerpieces, etc. What is the charge for wait staff and other staff.
How many servers per person. What are the additional rates if the party goes longer than originally expected.
• Look at the caterer's portfolio. Or better yet see if you can visit one of the caterer's events.
• Ask for references. See what former clients have to say about the quality of the food,
presentation and service. |
